If anyone sees a hitch for me or something else I should check, I'd appreciate you telling me what to do and I'll be happy to do so, as I'm not a Guru at backups, but I've had lots of experience on computers and can certainly follow instructions! :-) Thanks much.Acronis True Image backups up your computer ultra fast, and also works seamlessly with Windows 8 with a brand new user experience. SO, hopefully, I've successfully cleaned all backup files out and can now start over again. I then went into the remaining box on the BU & Rec tab and clicked on the Restore button and another Restore button and it told me it could find no backup files on my computer to Restore. So, I went back to the Backup & Recovery Tab and deleted the most recent first and on backward to the end of all the Partition files, using the same method of the Gear icon & choosing Delete & then choosing to delete completely all files (not worded exactly but that's the gist). Then I checked my Acronis Explorer and all the files were gone under the Program folder but the Partition files were still there. I decided, after GroverH said that a backup deletion should only last minutes, to go ahead & stop my looping delete job using Task Manager.
Well, I have an update to my previous post. Thanks to anyone who can tell me what to do with this thing! I just want to start all over again with this program. My external drive is full of my backups and I just want one backup anyhow (a complete Image, the reason I chose ATI). It says this will delete the full backup and all subsequent incremental or differential versions, which is exactly what I want. When prompted, I chose to Delete the Backup COMPLETELY. I then clicked on the Gear icon to open the Operations Menu and clicked on Delete.
On the Backup & Recovery Tab, I chose the only backup box that showed the name of the original backup, which shows a size of 630 gb. I was hoping to delete everything, full and incremental backups, since the beginning, last March, when I purchased ATI2014. It's still running and I am afraid to stop the job (via Task Manager is the only way I know how).
I do not know how to tell the progress of a running program, other than in Task Manager and it just shows True Image "running." I tried this Delete job by following the Manual explicitly, Section 5.8.9 Deleting Backups & Back Versions. It is now after 3 PM today and the job is still sitting there, looping or whatever it is doing. I started a Delete job last night about 7 or 8 PM.
